What Quelta checks

Six categories and more than 30 measurable metrics, from the first second to the call to action. Every check takes into account the platform, the country and the age of your audience.

  • Hook

Whether the first 3 seconds stop the scroll: motion, the first word, when the product appears.

  • Story & structure

Whether the script leads to a purchase: problem, demo, proof, pacing and no empty stretches.

  • Offer & CTA

Whether the viewer understands what to buy, why now and what to do next.

  • Audience & delivery

Whether the delivery fits the audience: language, speech rate, tone and the presenter on screen.

  • Picture & text

Format, sharpness, light, cuts, product on screen and text inside the platform’s safe zones.

  • Sound

Loudness, voice against music and noise, clipping, pauses and filler words.

Where it sags:

Script strength — how much a moment moves the viewer towards buying. Delivery energy — pace and expressiveness of the presenter. Both are model estimates, 0–100. Scroll risk shows where the video sags: weak script, flat delivery, a static picture, silence or a mistake at that moment. It is not a retention forecast.

Mistakes found

From the most serious to minor ones. Each mistake shows where it is in the video and how sure we are.

  1. CriticalHook

The product appears only at 5.8 s

For the first 6 seconds the viewer sees only a face and hears about the problem. Most people decide whether to keep watching in the first 2–3 seconds, so many will scroll away before they see the cream.

In the video: Shots 1–2: the presenter talks to the camera; the jar first enters the frame at 0:05.8.

    Proven practiceHigh confidence
  2. CriticalOffer & CTA

The video ends without a call to action

The last 4 seconds show only the product name. The viewer does not learn where to buy it or what to do next, so even an interested viewer has no reason to act now.

In the video: 0:30.5–0:34.5: end card with the name, no voice-over and no prompt to tap or follow a link.

    Proven practiceHigh confidence
  3. MajorHook

The first word comes at 1.9 s after a still frame

The opening second has almost no motion (14 of 100) and no sound. In a feed that autoplays without sound, a still first frame is easy to scroll past.

In the video: 0:00–0:01.9: the presenter looks at the camera in silence.

    Proven practiceHigh confidence
  4. MajorPicture & text

    Captions overlap the platform interface

Captions sit in the bottom 15% of the frame, where Reels and TikTok show the caption, the account name and the buttons. Part of the text will be covered.

In the video: The caption “Shea butter + urea” at 0:08.3 is placed 120 px above the bottom edge.

    Platform ruleHigh confidence
  5. MajorSound

The voice is quiet and the music drowns it out

Average loudness is −19.4 LUFS against the recommended −14. From 0:12 to 0:18 the music is almost as loud as the voice, so the key benefit is hard to hear.

In the video: 0:12.9–0:18.0: “It keeps my hands soft the whole day. Even after washing the dishes.”

    Proven practiceHigh confidence
  6. MajorOffer & CTAWhole video

    No price and no offer

The video does not mention the price, a discount or a reason to buy now. For an inexpensive product, a clear offer is often what turns interest into a purchase.

In the video: Neither the speech nor the on-screen text mention a price, a discount or a bundle.

    Proven practiceMedium confidence
  7. MinorStory & structure

The middle repeats the same benefit three times

From 0:13 to 0:25 the presenter says “soft all day” three times in different words. This slows the pace exactly where the video could show proof.

In the video: “It keeps my hands soft the whole day.” · “The softness lasts all day.” · “Really soft hands all day long.”

    Model opinionMedium confidence

How to fix it

Start from the top: the first fixes give the biggest gain.

  1. Show the cream in the first second+10 → 74

Open with a close-up: cream squeezed onto a dry hand, with the caption “Cracked hands in winter?”. Say the problem in the first sentence, without a pause.

Fixes: The product appears only at 5.8 sThe first word comes at 1.9 s after a still frame

  2. End with a call to action and an offer+10 → 84

Add a voice line and a caption at the end: where to buy and why now, for example “Order via the link in bio: 2 tubes for the price of 1 until Sunday”.

Fixes: The video ends without a call to actionNo price and no offer

  3. Make the voice louder than the music+6 → 90

Normalise the audio to about −14 LUFS and lower the music by 10–12 dB under speech, especially from 0:12 to 0:18.

Fixes: The voice is quiet and the music drowns it out

  4. Move the captions into the safe zone+7 → 97

Keep text in the middle of the frame: above the bottom 20% and away from the right edge, where the buttons are.

Fixes: Captions overlap the platform interface

  5. Replace the repetition with proof+2 → 99

Cut 0:18–0:25 down to one phrase and use the time for a before-and-after close-up or a short customer review.

Fixes: The middle repeats the same benefit three times

What already works

  • Clear close-ups of the texture and how fast the cream absorbs (0:08–0:13).
  • Natural delivery: the presenter speaks to the camera and keeps eye contact.
  • Good lighting and a sharp picture throughout.
  • Subtitles cover 86% of the speech, so the video works without sound.
Speech transcript
  1. My hands get so dry in winter that the skin literally cracks.
  2. I tried a dozen creams and nothing really helped.
  3. This one has shea butter and urea, and look how fast it absorbs, no greasy film at all.
  4. It keeps my hands soft the whole day.
  5. Even after washing the dishes.
  6. Honestly, the softness lasts all day, I just apply it in the morning.
  7. So yes, um, really soft hands all day long, I love it.
  8. After one week my hands look like this. No more cracks.
  9. Shea Hand Cream.

Why it pays to check the video first

The creative is the biggest driver of ad results, and it wears out fast. A mistake in the first seconds costs more than any targeting setting.

49%

of the incremental sales an ad drives come from the creative itself, more than brand, reach and targeting combined.

NCSolutions, 2023

5–7 days

is how long an ad creative lasts before fatigue sets in. The platform advises uploading new creatives every week.

TikTok for Business, 2024

$154

is the average actual payment for one UGC video from a creator. At 5–7 new videos a week, testing adds up fast.

Collabstr, 2026

−19%

cost per acquisition when creator-style content is added to regular ad campaigns (meta-analysis of 12 lift studies).

Questions and answers

What is Quelta?

Quelta does two things with short vertical video ads. First, it scores how well a video sells on a given platform, in a given country and for a given audience age, and shows every mistake with a timecode. Second, in one click it rebuilds the video into a version that sells and makes versions for other markets and languages. The review is free; the fix and the generation are available in private access.

Is the review really free?

Yes. You can check up to 5 videos a day for free, with no sign-up. We only use a functional cookie to count the daily limit.

What does the one-click fix do?

Based on the review, Quelta rebuilds the video: a hook in the first seconds, subtitles, tighter pacing, balanced sound, a clear offer and a call to action. You get a new video, not a list of tips. The before and after example on this page was made this way: from 22 to 94.

Is localization just a translation?

No. Besides the language and the subtitles, Quelta adapts what the ad leads with to local buyers: in one market it is the price, in another a discount or installments, in a third quality and free returns. The delivery, the pace and the text on screen change too.

How do I get private access?

Leave your email in the form on this page. We open access to brands and agencies one by one and get in touch to discuss your products, markets and volumes.

Which videos can I check?

Any vertical video ad up to 100 MB and 3 minutes long: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, Snapchat. Upload a file or paste a link to a public post.

How long does it take?

Usually 1–3 minutes. You can close the tab: the report opens at its link for 7 days.

What happens to my video?

The video and the report are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically. We do not sell videos, do not share them except with the processors needed for the analysis and do not use them to train models. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How is the score calculated?

The score is built from six categories: hook, story, offer, delivery, picture and sound. Some checks are measured precisely (loudness, cuts, subtitles), others are assessed by AI models. Each mistake shows whether it is a platform rule, a proven practice or the model’s opinion, and how sure we are.

Does a high score guarantee results?

No. The review is a recommendation: it finds typical mistakes that cost views and sales. The result also depends on the product, the offer, the audience and the ad settings.

In which languages does it work?

The site and the report are available in English, Russian, Kazakh, French and German. The video itself can be in any common language.
